Chris Will

Thought you might want to know more about me. I was born in Phoenix and grew up in Scottsdale when it was a small town and you could ride a bike or horse anywhere and nobody thought twice about grabbing a canteen and running out to explore any interesting spot in the desert.

Wall-to-wall books

Wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling books

I started hanging out in libraries when I was in 2nd grade. I’ve been a photographer, bookseller, writer, potter, credit analyst, filmmaker and currently I’m a meat librarian at Wall-Mart.

Last winter's vegies

I have 2 grown kids, 2 grand-kids, 2 cats, 4 chickens in my garden and an interesting assortment of friends. When I’m not working, campaigning, chasing kids and critters or wasting time on the internet I’m reading, embroidering, gardening, cooking, doing leather work, pottery or making  yet another chess set or writing about something I find interesting.

This year (2016) I just happen to be running for AZ State Senate in Legislative District 26 as a write-in in the Libertarian primary, so if you’re in my district I’d sure appreciate your vote so I can help make Arizona the best place possible. If you’re not in my district, please talk me up with any friends who are so they can vote me into a new job. Thanks for being interested enough to look at my blog!

  1. Hi Chris!

Really excited to see a Libertarian candidate in district 26! We’ve had democrats here for so long and they do nothing but bicker and fight with the republican majority. There’s a lot to be done in our district too, especially with the growth we’ll have from the expansion of the Lightrail and them remodeling and constantly working downtown Mesa. I really appreciate the Libertarian values and hope we can win.

    My vote is definitely yours!

    • Thank you! Every election cycle we seem to get stronger and more people understand our position. I’m hoping I win, too, and really appreciate your support!

  2. Hello Chris,

I’m glad to hear we have a Libertarian candidate running for our district. I wish you the best of luck, you have my vote! I was out doing some research on the upcoming elections and came across the following page : http://ballotpedia.org/Chris_Will . This website is very informative about the upcoming elections and I urge you to go to the site and create an account and update all of your information on that page so prospective voters can find out more about you on there as well as on your website. The more information you have out there and the more visible you are can do nothing but help!

    • Thanks for the encouragement, the vote & the site link. I’ll go on there tomorrow & update my information.

  3. What is a “Meat Librarian,” and what is “Wall-Mart?”

    • Wall-Mart is a big-box store that seems to have many spellings, but only one is correct. I rarely spell it correctly out of a weird sense of curiosity to see who will catch it. A meat librarian is someone who has been doing librarian work since 2nd grade & converts those skills to the meat department where there is no meat cutting (butchery) going on. All the meat is prepackaged so we take it out of boxes, date it, shelve it & help people find what they need on the shelves. I suggested this would be an apt description at my interview & they said I could call myself that.

  9. […] Chris Will is a sales associate. In the Voters Guide, her full answer to the question about her background and experience in water policy was, “I am a homeowner and have followed news about the Central Arizona Project since its planning phase.” (The Central Arizona Project got its start in 1946.) On her website from 2016, when she ran for state Senate as a write-in Libertarian candidate, she described herself as “a meat librarian at Wall-Mart.” She said she had also been a “photographer, bookseller, writer, potter, credit analyst, [and] filmmaker.” The title of her more up-to-date Facebook campaign page is “Chris Will, Adventures in Politics.” […]
